Adam Rung Woodworks specializes in fine custom furniture and woodworking. We are committed to creating works that are beautiful and eco friendly. Quality craftsmanship and attention to detail ensure each masterpiece will be enjoyed for years to come.

We are a full service woodworking shop. In addition to working with private clients, we regularly work with architects and interior designers on a wide variety of projects. We offer furniture prototyping, historical reproductions, doors, moldings, stairs, built-ins, kitchens, and vanities. From start to finish, Adam Rung Woodworks strives to make each client’s vision a reality. We can work with your designs or design something new, specifically for you. We provide computer renderings for all aspects of each project.

Adam believes that being ecologically responsible is imperative. Buying and selling locally, recycling, and green materials are all part of the equation. We recycle all the waste produced in the shop. Useable scrap wood is made into jewelry boxes, mirrors, and cutting boards. Sawdust is given to local horse farms for bedding, and smaller scrap wood is burned in woodstoves. Additionally, the shop is powered by PECO wind energy. We utilize domestic hardwoods such as cherry, maple and walnut all harvested in the Mid-Atlantic region. Large, natural edged wood slabs are sawn from diseased or wind-damaged yard trees. We reclaim and salvage a variety of materials for our projects. We resaw old beams and joists to reveal the beautiful, old growth lumber. An antique machinery base may be reused for a dining table or wrenches for coffee table legs. We also offer low V.O.C. finishes, and panel goods made from eco friendly materials.

Adam grew up in a woodworking family. His parents, Paul and Bonnie Rung, have a Shaker furniture business in Chambersburg, PA. After apprenticing for 6 years, Adam founded Adam Rung Woodworks in 2002. Since then, he has a worked to create a diverse portfolio. His background in shaker furniture gave him an appreciation for clean lines, functionality, and sound construction. His designs reflect an effort to strike a balance between traditional and contemporary furniture and woodwork. As a third generation woodworker, Adam believes in the importance of carrying on the tradition of handmade furniture in America. He enjoys creating beautiful and functional pieces that will be adored by his clients for a lifetime.
